Day 1 Seattle. Arrival in Seattle. Pick up your car and start exploring or proceed to your hotel.
Day 2 Seattle. Today is at your leisure to explore the city. Seattle is a very walkable and clean city full of entertainment options. Theaters, restaurants, and world-class shopping abound throughout the downtown area. Perhaps taste the delights of Pike Place Market and rise to the heights of the Space Needle. For the more adventurous, there is an “Underground” tour or Northwest Wildlife Park to explore. Or maybe you’d prefer to visit Tillicum Village on Historic Blake Island State Park.
Day 3 Seattle–Victoria. A leisurely drive to Victoria takes you on two different ferries. First, ferry to the Olympic Peninsula. Stop and spend some quality time in beautiful Olympic National Park and see glacier-capped mountains and beautiful alpine meadows. Then, ferry across the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the US/Canada border to the “City of Gardens.” Victoria is situated at the southern tip of Vancouver Island and shines in one of Canada’s mildest climates. Here you will get a taste of 19th-century London charm, including cobblestone streets, period architecture, and afternoon tea. APPROXIMATE DRIVING DISTANCE: 109 Miles/175 Kilometers
Day 4 Victoria. You have the entire day to explore the capital of British Columbia. Walk along the Inner Harbour and stop at the Royal BC Museum, or visit Thunderbird Park and see the magnificent collection of First Nations totem poles. Indulge yourself with Afternoon Tea at the historic Fairmont Empress Hotel, take a whale-watching cruise, or pick up a gift or souvenir on Government Street. Or maybe you’d prefer to drive up island to visit quaint communities on the water where local artisans and ocean beaches feature prominently in every town.
Day 5 Victoria–Vancouver. A short travel day allows plenty of time to stop at famous Butchart Gardens prior to catching the ferry back to the mainland. This fifty-five-acre floral display offers spectacular views as you meander through its sprawling lawns and paths. The one-and-a-half hour ferry ride across the Strait of Georgia offers stunning panoramic views and the opportunity to see wildlife. APPROXIMATE DRIVING DISTANCE: 68 Miles/109 Kilometers
Day 6 Vancouver. The entire day is free to discover this wonderful city. Set amid the Coast Mountains and on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, Vancouver offers the best of city life and nature’s beauty. Perhaps visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge or hike on one of the three local mountains. Visit the Vancouver Aquarium or rent a bike and explore the woodland, wildlife, and beaches of Stanley Park. Explore Chinatown and Gastown. While in Gastown, visit Storyeum for a unique look at the history, people, and culture of British Columbia. Perhaps visit Robson Street and experience world-class shopping or enjoy dinner on Granville Island. Day 7 Vancouver–Seattle. Return to Seattle and drop off your rental car prior to departure. APPROXIMATE DRIVING DISTANCE: 140 Miles/225 Kilometers |
