Day 1 Arrival in Las Vegas.
Welcome to Las Vegas! Pick up your car and start exploring or proceed to your hotel.
Day 2 Las Vegas.
Today, explore the “Entertainment Capital of the World.” Whether it is relaxing by the pool, gambling, or going to see a top Las Vegas show there is something here for everyone.
Day 3 Las Vegas–Grand Canyon National Park.
This morning, make your way to the Grand Canyon, one of the natural wonders of the world. Carved through the rocks of the Colorado Plateau over millions of years, the canyon is more than a mile deep and 15 miles wide, exposing billions of years of geological history. APPROXIMATE DRIVING DISTANCE: 280 Miles
Day 4 Grand Canyon National Park.
A full day is yours to continue exploring the Grand Canyon. Hike on one of the many trails or perhaps take an exciting helicopter flight over the canyon.
Day 5 Grand Canyon National Park–Monument Valley.
Drive east to Monument Valley, with its definitive red mesas and buttes surrounded by empty desert. The bright and deep natural colors are truly stunning. You may have a sense of visiting here before since the area has been filmed many times for movies, commercials, and magazines. For the adventurous, perhaps take a four-wheel drive tour of the area. APPROXIMATE DRIVING DISTANCE: 191 Miles
Day 6 Monument Valley–Canyonlands National Park–Arches National Park–Moab.
Today, travel north to Moab. Explore the countless canyons in Canyonlands National Park. The Colorado and Green Rivers divide the park into districts, each sharing a desert atmosphere while retaining its own unique character. Then on to Arches National Park, famous for more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including the world-famous Delicate Arch. The contrasting colors and textures highlight the extraordinary features of the rock formations. APPROXIMATE DRIVING DISTANCE: 165 Miles
Day 7 Moab–Capitol Reef National Park–Bryce Canyon National Park.
This morning, drive west through Capitol Reef National Park where you will see the “Waterpocket Fold,” a 100-mile-long wrinkle in the earth’s crust. This colorful geologic feature is known as a monocline or a “step up” in the rock layers. Then on to Bryce Canyon National Park where erosion has shaped limestone, sandstone, and mudstone into thousands of spires, pinnacles, and mazes. Together these colorful formations are called “hoodoos.” APPROXIMATE DRIVING DISTANCE: 280 Miles
Day 8 Bryce Canyon National Park–Zion National Park.
This morning, take time to explore Bryce Canyon National Park further. Then drive to Zion National Park to view its towering cliffs. These unique sandstone cliffs range in color from pink to red to cream. APPROXIMATE DRIVING DISTANCE: 88 Miles
Day 9 Zion National Park–Las Vegas.
Return to Las Vegas and drop off your rental car prior to departure. APPROXIMATE DRIVING DISTANCE: 168 Miles |
