Day 1 Arrival in Boston.
Welcome to Boston, the “Athens of America.” Proceed to your hotel or start exploring.
Day 2 Boston. Today, enjoy the included OLD TOWN TROLLEY TOUR.
This hop on and hop off tour makes more than 15 stops and allows you to see the city at your own pace. Narration features more than 100 points of interest, including the New England Aquarium, USS Constitution, Beacon Hill, Faneiul Hall Marketplace, the Old State House, and much more. This evening perhaps enjoy a whale-watch cruise from Boston Harbor.
Day 3 Boston–New York City.
Included sightseeing. Depart this morning for “The Big Apple.” Relax and enjoy the comfort and service of AMTRAK rail travel. From Wall Street’s stock exchange to the galleries of SoHo, the sparkling diamond district, and the cobblestone streets in the South Street Seaport, New York has something for everyone. Perhaps take the ferry to Ellis Island and view the Statue of Liberty, which welcomed immigrants to the land of freedom. Take advantage of the included CITY SIGHTSEEING TOUR by double-decker bus. This hop on and hop off tour is valid for 48 hours and features more than 35 locations. This evening, perhaps take in a Broadway show!
Day 4 New York City.
Included sightseeing. An entire day to enjoy New York City at your leisure. Day 5 New York City–Philadelphia.
Board your AMTRAK train to the “City of Brotherly Love.” Once in Philadelphia, enjoy a CITY SIGHTSEEING TOUR by Victorian style trolley. Enjoy hop on and hop off privileges at 20 stops throughout the city, and visit one of its many historic treasures, including the Betsy Ross House and Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site. At Independence National Historic Park visit the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence was first adopted and the U.S. Constitution was written. Stroll the bustling waterfront at Penn’s Landing, marking the site where William Penn, city founder, landed in 1682. This evening, perhaps enjoy fine dining at one of Philadelphia’s famous eateries or stroll lively South Street.
Day 6 Philadephia–Washington DC.
Depart today on AMTRAK for Washington’s history, power, and spectacular beauty. Arrive in Union Station, restored to turn–of–the–century grandeur, and view the sights at your own pace aboard your OLD TOWN TROLLEY TOUR. Sights include the Lincoln Memorial, Georgetown, Washington National Cathedral, the White House, the Smithsonian museums, Arlington National Cemetery, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and more.
Day 7 Washington DC.
An entire day at leisure to explore the city further.
Day 8 Washington DC.
